Human teenagers can be more irrational and scarier than bloodthirsty alien invaders with a totally different mindset! No kidding, I think he once stated parts of Zoe's personality are taken from his own daughter. If I recall correctly she is twelve years by now, this man has prepared himself for the worst. I think he will still get surprised by his own teenage daughter. *diabolical grin* What I like about Scalzi's SciFi is that he combines humor with surprising depth. This is a rare ability in the SciFi genre. Whatever. Thanks to Scalzi I am prepared to face the horrors from outer space.
