Oh my goodness, this is HILARIOUS! Why did I only discover it not earlier? Exactly my words here, all the way through. Thank you for that!
I had to put up with two hysteric girls (I wished I could say they were little pre-teenage-girls starting to have “crushes” on TV stars, but in actual fact they were 20 years old) watching the first Twilight movie over and over again. Every time frickin’ Edward was on screen they would go “Awwwwwwwwwwiiiieeeee…. he’s so cute, oh my God, he’s so cute, isn’t he cute?! Awwwww…”. And when Bella was on screen, they’d be like: “Oh, they’re such a gorgeous couple, how cuuuuuuuuuteeeee!”. YUK.

I understand the books and movies. I just can’t wrap my mind around how seemingly intelligent people are trapped by the vapidity and inanity that Meyer’s books present. They think it’s akin to reality, when it’s subversive and hurtful. I don’t understand the willingness to accept abuse as a standard.
