i found twlight or dimlight to be quiet unintelligent… wish it never was around… why cant kilds watch doctor who and listen to things like mozart… and why oh why must girls like being bitten.. i find it quiet scary….

I have not even read Twilight. But all I have seen is that it jumped the bandwaggon of an disturbing trend to generate terribly clichéd romance literature in a fantasy setting with vampires.

Before that, it was restricted to handsome guys from the scottish highlands biting buxom bitches in the neck lovingly.

Vampire literature has gone a long way … down. IMO, of course. I usually enjoy most literary genres and I am generally opposed to genre-bashing. But Gothic fiction has not deserved this rather bland contemporary side strain inspired by it.

P.S.: Twilight was not that successful in Germany, but the quite similar fantasy subgenre I described is flowering…

You know my stand on this sort of thing from the linked article. I’m afraid I don’t know enough about the particulars of Twilight to properly ream it, however. There are some lines I just won’t cross, and while I’d probably have a bit of fun tearing it to shreds, I don’t want to have to bleach my brain afterward.

So, full steam forward on the fun week!
