@Longasc: I generally just plow my way through DVD seasons as fast as possible. I generally go for marathon sessions of at least two or three episodes. My dad and I watch maybe 4-6 episodes of SG-1 a week, and I generally watch SGA in short spurts at night when I don't have much else going on.

@Tesh: I do love Jacob Carter. I like how after he becomes a Tok'ra that he actually evolves instead of stagnating in the cliche he was introduced as.

For what it's worth, Jacob Carter winds up being one of the best recurring guest characters. His introduction is indeed a bit cliche (and made me wonder why we don't see more Tokra hosts as the series goes on), but his character is a good one. He gives a voice to the symbiotic relationship that the Tokra have, and it stands in pretty sharp contrast to the Gou'ald. (And the father-daughter dynamic eases into a better place, much like season 1 eased into season 2 and beyond.) If anything, I'd have liked to see more of the guy.

May I ask about your TV series watching habits? I usually watch them on TV and do not buy them on DVD.

But you do. Do you watch 1-3 at once, consuming a whole season over a week/month?

I usually only watch one episode per week on TV, followed by one episode of Atlantis and one episode of the previous SG season. In-between them you can watch Battlestar Galactica and Torchwood. Yeah, this is how the "SciFi Wednesday" on the german program "RTL 2" works!

I remember the early SG1 seasons fondly, curiously I did not dig the final SG seasons that much. I also liked SG:Atlantis, despite the feeling that all characters were weaker than in SG1. The penultimate episode of SG:A exploring alternate futures is my favorite of all SG episodes so far.

I will have to check my local store, it seems that Walmart is way cheaper than the german versions available here. Oh yeah. Season1, 20,00 EUR, ~ 28,60 $…
