I think any of the more difficult Lovecraft should be left to higher level classes. She has presented two papers at academic conferences on the show (one at last year's Slayage and one at this year's Pop Culture Association conference). <br /><br />I highly suggest going and watching it. There are only around 14 episodes of the show; it was canceled early, but is probably one of my favorites to ever air. Even if you're not a huge sci-fi fan, you'll find something in Firefly to latch onto. Jennifer is a bigger fan than I am, actually. First, thank you for being a fellow teacher that gets so excited about something that no students can completely turn their backs on it. :) Two, props to you for putting hulu as a link to a college class. These kids have no idea how lucky they are to have a college prof who actually enjoys teaching and learning new things. :) I, obviously, am not the biggest sci fi person; however, in my old age, I have learned to be more open to all kinds of stuff.
